Born in Birmingham, Edward started dancing at the age of eleven and within just eight months of starting, he qualified for the 1999 World Championships. Edward had a strong interest in dancing from a young age and trained at the most successful and renowned school in the world, directed by Danny Doherty. Throughout his competitive career, he went on to become -
Midlands Regional Champion, Great Britain Champion, British National Champion, All Scotland Champion, All Ireland Champion and 2005 World Champion. Edward also retained his title at many of these major championships for several consecutive years.
On top of that, Edward is very proud to have been part of many world winning Ceili and Figure Teams and is so thankful to have won every title in both Solo and Ceili/Figure categories. Edward stresses that there had been so many obstacles for him as a dancer but strongly believes that if you want something badly enough - and you never stop thinking about it, then it will happen!
"To qualify as a teacher was all I wanted to do from a young age and I knew that once I was old enough, the first thing I would do would be to take my TCRG. Having studied and trained for the TCRG exam with Byron simply from the book and with no assistance whatsoever, we were truly elated to find out that we had passed!"
"This opened up a whole new door for us and we just can't wait to see our school grow and the dancers in our class to have the same experiences and successes that we had as dancers".
Edward has also been a member of the Riverdance Flying Squad.
